Warning: Talks of violence, Coprophagia, and body remains
It was November 18, 2012, when Dylan Redwine was picked up from the airport by his father. Dylan’s parents were divorce so he had to split time between them, but Dylan didn’t want to be near his father. In fact, Dylan didn’t want to be near his father since the year before, when he saw some disturbing photos of his father.
The year before (2011) Dylans disappearance, him and his brother had found photos of their father in a wig, women’s lingerie, and eating feces from a diaper.

This had disturbed Dylan, and he had told his brother that he didn’t want to visit their father. Due to the custody agreement between his mother and father, Dylan had to go. So, he asked his brother for the photos of their dad and planned to confront him.
Now a year later Dylan had to visit his father. He was picked up on November 18, 2012. It was seen in surveillance videos that there was no personal interaction between the two. Dylan had made plans to stay with his friend, but his father spurned that plan. So, Dylan and his friend had planned to meet the next morning around 6:30 instead. Dylan’s last know communication was at 9:37 that night. The next morning on November 19, Dylan’s friend had text at 6:46, but there was no response.
When asked, Dlyan’s father Mr. Redwine, stated that he had been running errands that morning and when he returned home his son was missing. Dylan’s mother did not believe him, which is when the search began.
It only took a few days, before Redwine’s other ex-wife spoke to the investigators, stating that in a conversation between them, Redwine said he would leave a body in the mountains if he ever had to get rid of a body. It is important to know that Redwine’s house was surrounded by a mountainous landscape where one would drive an ATV.
On June 27, 2013, 8 miles from Redwine’s house, 100 yards from an ATV trail, on Middle Mountain Road remains were found. It had been a little over seven months before Dylan’s remains were partially found. When the remains were found, it had been discovered that Redwine had told another one of his sons, that the investigators would have to find Dylan’s skull and other body parts, to know if blunt force trauma was what cause Dylan to pass away. It was also discovered that a witness saw Redwine driving in the area alone in April 2013. He then left town, not returning to help search for Dylan.
Crazy enough, in 2013, Redwine went on Dr. Phili where imputations were made between Redwine and Dylan’s mother. The notable fact to take in from this, is that Redwine refused to take a polygraph test.
In August 2013, two months after some of Dylan’s remains were found, human cadaver scent and Dylan’s blood was found in Redwine’s living room. Canines also indicated a large amount of human remains in Redwine’s truck (February 2014). Three years later, after finding the first set of remains, on November 1, 2015, Dylan’s skull was found by hikers up Middle Mountain Road. His remains were confirmed by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Division, who stated that no animal in the area would carry a body that far up the mountain.
After a grand jury indictment on July 17, 2017, Redwine was arrested for second-degree murder and child abuse. After covid restriction delays, Mark Redwine went on trial in 2021. Where a forensic anthropologist attested that Dulan suffered a fracture above his left eye and that the marks on his skull were made by a knife. Prosecution stated that the photographs had triggered a rage in Redwine. Showcases some details on how Dylan’s first night missing was.
Redwine was sentenced to 48 years (maximum term) in prison on October 8, 2021.
